We have teenagers that are looking for their first cars and it has proven to be an exhausting experience. Our arrangements were that we would buy the car and they would pay the auto insurance. I should have been a little more clear on how much we are willing to go for the top cost. They really wanted a sporty car and tried to convense us that the sport cars were the better choice. Then my wife got an idea. We agreed to the sporty cars and told them before we bought them they needed to check on the costs of insurance for these little red sports cars. You and I know that little red sports cars are expensive to insure they did not! After a short phone call they decided that fuel economy would be a smarter choice for them and we agreed! Sometimes you just do not need to say anything and life takes care of itself!

Our company put enclosed bulletin boards in our break rooms so we could read any announcements that they need to make. They informed everyone that if we had any information on anything we could also use the boards as well. It stays full! They then put enclosed cork boards by the elevators because we stand quite a while waiting. We all love this idea because we can read everything and then talk about it in the elevators. This does open up lines of communication among employees. I have not had one of those awkward elevator rides where you look up and then the floor because you have already greeted and now there is nothing left to say since the new bulletin boards. There is always something to say! Most of the time we leave the elevators laughing. I have an enclosed fabric bulletin board at my desk that we all use a lot. The things we put on it are safe and they are usually pictures with little sentences put with them to make everyone laugh.

When we moved to our first home we wanted to give it a look that said we are here and this is our home. We wanted to do that with an address plaque. We had been looking at address plaques for quite some time because we had agreed this was one thing that we wanted on our new home before we actually agreed on a home. We found a neighborhood that we liked a lot. The homes we looked at all had house address plaques so we knew we were among like minded friends. The address signs that many had picked to adorn their homes matched the one that we had decided on as well. Who knew the first conversations that we would have with our new friends would be about address signs but it was. We put the address sign that we had bought before we found our home in our front flower garden and put a light on it. It stands so nicely when we turn onto out driveway after dark. It just gives our home that regal look we wanted. Since we did this with ours we have noticed that several of our neighbors followed suit and before long they had all done the same thing. The entire neighborhood has a nice look with just that simple look of unity in our flower beds!

I have a friend that lives in drives a Ford Explorer. He loves his Explorer and we hear about it all of the time. He does not have very much trouble with it as far as repairs and he puts a lot of miles on it. It has proven to be a dependable car for him. He had to have the head gasket replaced recently but he took in into a Los Angeles auto repair and they had him fixed up and he was out quickly. He has enjoyed this vehicle so much that we have actually been looking at one as well. When you hear about someone finding a dependable car you naturally want to make that you next choice because it somehow seems as though it has been tested. Besides that they look really good and they hold a lot of stuff if you have to go out of town. I will have to get a different color or we will never hear the end of how we do everything the same!

When we had our first child we knew we needed a bigger home because we wanted more children and we were going to out grow our current home. We searched until we found the perfect home and as a bonus I got the garage that I had always wanted. We did have more children and that was in the plans but the cost for me was steep. My garage is not filled with car things like in my dreams but it is filled with riding toys! Each of our children have their favorites and they park them inside so they can be like grownups! Guess what the grownups cars are all outside! My wife said that I should be patient and this is a stage that they will go through until they have cars of their own and at that time they will once again need the garage! It seems obvious to me the house is the perfect size but we need to add on to our garage!

When we gave our curb appeal an update one thing that we knew had to change was our old mailbox. It was one of those projects that we had planned on doing since we bought the house but it was low on the list. The list was now nearly complete and it was the mailboxes turn to get an update. In my IT career I have had a chance to install five complete phone systems and about fifteen more that I was able to help with maintenance and installation. The headsets were also digital and when the were hooked up remotely to a DSL connection and filtered over the VOIP T1 line you received a crystal clear voice on the other end of communication, all from just hooking it up to a DSL speed internet lines. We used this phone system where customers could leave messages for salesman from customers and made it a little more efficient and easy for customers to leave them a message.

Now there virtual phone systems that will allow a business start up with multi branch and utilize a virtual phone system that all you are the phone headsets and virtual company can may your no matter where your phones are installed at. That is a good idea, because you would not have to buy new equipment no matter how big your business might get. Since you are not buying equipment you save money by not needing tech support, insurance on the equipment, all around you have money. The virtual service can provide many expensive features just like it when you purchased you own system. Since we need DSL speed for our businesses you will not an extra phone line. Another savings from paying monthly fees for regular land lines.

Win TV’s started out they were a big novelty for everyone. Some said it would not work, nothing will replace radio. That was then. Then someone came up with advertising commercials on TV. The advertisers found they were able to drive sales when more folks bought Televisions. When there where only three, the dictated what buyer would buy from the commercials they showed. Then in the eighties came computers. Some said this would never take off. Next arrived the internet, some said just a fad, then came the ads on websites and emails trying to get to now billions of interent computer users to become known or buying a product. Today there are more cell phones than computers. Guess what is next. Some one found there are lots of mobile users, maybe we could send the ads to make money. That would the next normal step. But now come mobile marketing where the consumers will get a paid when they buy a product or service from an advertiser. The interesting thing about the advertiser pays for the ad or coupon only after the customer purchases from them. Sound like the next win-win in mobile adverting.

When we went to my sister’s home we were taken by surprise at the beauty of it. It is a Victorian style home and it carried that theme throughout the home. We went from one room to another and just loved the way the decor flowed with the style of the home. They took care of every detail to stay with the Victorian theme. There is nothing more cozy then a nice warm bed to curl up in after a long day in the cold. We went on a camping trip and stayed in cabins. We hiked all day and it was very cold but we loved it. When we got back to the cabins the attendant came out of the office and told us if we turn on our electric blanket just before we are ready to go to bed it will have our beds nice and warm. We were glad to get the information because we did not even know there was an electric blanket on the bed and we had not used one before. She was right. When bedtime came we snuggled up into our nice warm beds and you could hear each person as they got into bed say,” Ahh! That’s nice!” We knew when everyone had gone to bed because the last moan was heard and we then turned out the lights! I have to get one of these blankets for our home as well because that made the entire night comfortable. We never rolled over and hit a cold spot that woke us up so we were able to get a good night’s rest.
