We read about a company that offers dog sled rides actually having 100 of their sled dogs killed to cut costs after a downturn in business. We could not actually believe what we were reading about these whistler dogs belonging to the Whistler company. It appears the entire world is as outraged as we are. The owner of the company takes moral responsibility for what his company has done although he states that he did not know about the scale of the killings or how or when it was actually done. He said it is being investigated and he could not comment any more then that. With the eyes of the world on this event we are hoping that it is not allowed to happen again.

If you are a pet owner chances are that you feel as though your pet is part of your family and the thought that you could loose them is unthinkable. We have had friends that have lost their pets and the search went on for many weeks and some of them were found and others were not. This is heartbreaking for everyone involved. We work a lot with animals that have been abandoned or abused. It is very difficult to work with some of these animals that have suffered needlessly at the hands of others. We have many successes and some of our successes stay with us because of issues that this is their best choice. We love them and care for them and they are safe. The thought that they could become lost is one that we could not bear. When we see people putting up signs and calling for their pets into the night we always help them but our hearts just break for their loss. We worry about what their pet is going through as their owner searches and searches for them. Now thanks to some forward thinking people there are things that you can do to help you find your Lost Dog. They use a system that will get all of the Lost Dogs information out to more places and faster to help you get a better outcome. When a pet is lost it is vital that the word gets out because a dog that is lost often runs for a long time and that means they can get miles always very quickly. The posters that are put up local if the dog is running may not help after a short time because they are long gone. This better way of searching gets the information out farther and faster so everyone for many miles is informed on the search for your family member. It helps knowing that there is a Lost Dog Shelter for dogs that are lost and running the streets in their search for the home that they can not find. This shelter is provided the information so they too can watch for you lost dog.

I’ve been riding horses for as long as I could walk, maybe even longer than that. I’ve always loved riding but that’s kind of taken a back seat to everything else in my life lately with my job and kids being more demanding. However, I want to get back to my horse basics and have made a 2011 New Year’s resolution to ride my horse more.

I got inspired to do that when one of my life-long friends sent me an e-card for the holidays that had her daughter riding her first horse. It was so adorable and reminded me of why I always loved riding. That same night I received it I came across some Atlanta Clear Wireless Internet specials and after I showed them to my husband, I signed our household up for one of them.

I hope that I can keep my horse New Year’s resolution. I know that the horses probably get bored grazing so much, so I’m going to try to ride at least once every week, even if that means just around our property.

When we get our pets we want to make them a part of the family. For many dogs it is not as simple as just getting the dog and them blending in. For those dogs we need dog training books. These books are designed to help you to understand your dog and help him to work through any behavioral problems that he may be having that is causing him to not be able to be a part of the family and the family routine. It is not fun to have a dog and keep him in a pen locked away from the family. Having a dog that is an essential part of the family is what makes pet ownership so rewarding.
