This past holiday season was my easiest shopping season yet. Everyone has told me over and over how difficult shopping for teenagers is. I guess I got the cream of the crop when it comes to kids. All of my kids wants ipods. How simple was that? My wife handles all of the fill ins but my job if the main gift. I had my shopping done in one stop. I think this year was easier then the year we bought them a large plastic kitchen set! Everyone stopped to put in their 2 cents as we tried to load them into our van. But everyone left after a few moment and said it would not fit. I wish those people could have seen my wife at work as she went right into it and had them in that van in less then 5 minutes! Simply amazing!

When I was at the airport luggage pick up I noticed something that I usually do not see. I was watching the belt go around and around and it was full of luggage sets. I did not see the boxes with strings holding then together and the suitcases that looked like they had travel the world. They were replaced with designer looking luggage. My wife and I made a comment how that kinda took the fun away of watching the creative luggage go by and try to figure out who owned it. It also took away the dialogue that always follows when a slightly embarrassed owner would claim their treasure.

You just keep hearing about all of the big businesses around the United Stated but there is another part of the economy that the people of the US are quite proud of and that is the giant market that the small businesses provide. For example, businesses that make things like the Utah Body Jet are a small company that contributes greatly to the job market as well as the economy as a whole. There are thousands of small businesses that make the products and provide the services that we use everyday. Big businesses definitely do their part but so do the underdogs that silently pay taxes and hire a great majority of the workers. It takes in put from everyone to keep our economy going. It will take us all to save our economy as well, big businesses, small businesses and consumers alike. We all have a large stake in the economic portfolio of the United States and we will be the team it takes to rebuild it. No one is more important then the other in the times to come getting our economy stable again.

When you follow the rodeo circuit there are just some events that stand out more then others. There are certain rodeos that are a not miss and one of them is coming. The Houston Rodeo & Livestock Show is truly an event. They pull out all of the stops with some of the best cowboys and cowgirls and truly beautiful animals. You can start off your day with the livestock show and everyone that has ever attended a livestock show knows how much fun you can have as you see some of the best animals the handlers have to offer. You can then get ready for the arena to fill with electricity as the participants are ready to show you what makes them some of the best! When the event starts it is like a fast train. Everyone has their favorites and the day just gets better. When you sit in the side seats you can have complimentary food and drinks not to mention a great center view. After the show there is a concert that takes center stage and you do not have to worry about a good seat then. You can enjoy top music from many different entertainers from country to Latin depending on the night you attend. It is so much fun because the electricity from the morning is still going at night. You truly get your money’s worth. By the time you get back to your hotel or your home you know you have been entertained! When you are working on the curb appeal of your home the things that are most important are the details. It can be the layout of the shrubs all the way to the mulch placement that can make your design look it’s very best. Good curb appeal not only increases the monetary value of your home but makes you feel better about your property as well. Pulling into a well cared for home after a long day at work helps to make it all seem worth it for me. It can put me in a great mood as I watch my kids playing on a yard that we take pride in. Our flower beds have mulch in them all year round to give the home a clean appearance even through the winter and the mulch also helps to keep the flowers dormant until it is their time to make their first appearance. When spring gets here we usually have to put out new mulch to freshen the look again. What ever you can do to keep your home looking cared for whether it be to keep the driveway swept through the windy season or keeping your flower beds fresh and waiting for spring it all creates great curb appeal!

There are a few things that I can do without that I would consider a newfangled idea that just did not work but my lap desk is not one of them. I use mine all of the time. It turns any chair into a comfortable work space. the one complaint I had about mine has now been answered and that was it needed a cup holder! Someone else must have had the same need because now they come with one. They also have fun colors and designs so you can find one for any design flare. You can even have one with a board game on it. I went through school using mine every night and now I use mine to work small puzzles on or even to pay bills on while I watch my favorite shows. We recently went on vacation adn we took it in the car with us. When we returned from our trip we knew we each needed one and they are on the holiday shopping list this year. They are one of those things that you can use and not just something else to store.

There are a lot of pressures when you go to school for a higher education. One of the things that seem to be a common complaint is there is never enough time to get done all that you have to do with essays to write and research to do. For my entire childhood I heard the saying,” don’t let the bed bugs bite.” Little did I know that there really are bed bugs. There are actually bugs that live inside of the bed and bite people as they sleep. I was watching a hotel on the news that had had an outbreak of the little carnivores and it showed the guests that had complained. They had bites all over them! There is good news because where there is a problem there is a cure. There is a bed bug bites cure that can get rid of those pesky creatures as well as the itch and stinging that goes along with it. The thoughts of something living in my mattress does not make for a good nights sleep. The only thing worse then sleeping in my own bed now and thinking about these pesky creatures is sleeping in hotel and motel beds! I know how often I vacuum and clean my mattresses and I bet I know how much they clean theirs! One way to help with any problem is to bring it to the forefront and by putting it on the news I think that it made everyone more aware and hopefully that includes hotel owners the dangers of an outbreak. They can be hard to get rid of once you have an outbreak according to the news report!

We are fortunate enough to be having a lot many guests coming in for the holidays. This puts us in a situation where we are having to be creative about where everyone will sleep. We have decided that with all of the couches and beds used the little ones can go in sleeping bags. That still leaves some of the adults without a sleeping situation. My son suggested a raft with a blanket over it and that brought up an air mattress. We are now on the search to get the best air bed because if we do not this could be a long holiday! They are so different then then used to be with a fast fill and a fast deflate. A friend of ours has one that her family sleep on when they come over for the weekend and she said that love how comfortable it is. She said that she and her husband use their air bed on the weekends when they want to watch television by the fire and fall asleep in their den. For us I think it is a simple solution since we will be having the same guests every year we want to make it the most comfortable for them. If all things could be solved this fast the world would be a problem free zone!

We were recently talking about toys that have changed through the years. There are so many new toys flooding the market it can make your head spin. If you look hard enough you can still find things like slinkys and barrels of monkeys. My kids were listening to me with so much enthusiasm as I told them of all the toys I used to have. As I pulled some of my favorites from an old box my mom had saved for me I watched my kids faces with excitement. When I pulled out my yoyos my kids said we know what you can do with that. I quickly began showing them some of my old tricks ( which were a little rusty). They were amused and they all wanted to try it. Realizing how much fun yo yos are I went online and found a website that has yo yos and they deliver for free. I love saving money. My kids are going to be so surprised when they get their own yo yo’s. They have not let mine rest since it came out of the storage box. I can not believe the old string is still going. I am glad this website has fast delivery but not as glad as my yo yo!

Everyone wants to look their personal best. When we look in the mirror and do not see the image that we want ourselves to display it can greatly effect our self-confidence.
