In some ways we parents have it much easier than ever before since we as a society have the benefit of parenting methods that others have tried at our fingertips. We tend to communicate with other parents and pool information. You can not go into a book store that you are not bombarded with books on the best way to handle different stages in a childs life. There are people that have a hard time occasionally or can actually track down a reason for not sleeping. Those people can try one or two things and one of them will work and then they are back on track. Which leads me to the rest of us which have heard many times over the old rule eventually if you go long enough you will go to sleep. Guess what that is not true you. Your body will begin a sort of shut down phase though, first you will loose focus on everyday things and become zombie like and then your personality starts to change from all the frustration and then you basically pass out. Good news though there are things that can help but you need all not some of them. Some basic sleep tips are to not drink or eat anything from late afternoon on and what you eat is also important. Stay away from to many spices. Never turn on a television in your bedroom, This one is very hard since you can easily find your self thinking in the dark. You will also need to make your bedroom totally conducive to nothing but sleep. Get up at the same time every day even on the weekends, this will tell your body what to expect on a routine. You also need to make your sleeping position comfortable to your body so that you can actually feel it relaxing section by section and not feel it in a bind of any way. This is more easily done in an adjustable bed where there are more positions to choose from. With all of the available sleep tips, one is also very relaxing, to read before bed or something that is not too intriguing so that your eyes get tired and your brain has something to think about other than the day. Over the past several years the start of the baby boomers retiring has started over our nation. Our family has had several of our relatives stay in a Retirement villages. A fiend of mine has worked in one for several years, she enjoys being around other folks her age and keeps her busy and out of trouble. Retirement communities are group housing that are made up of retirees and seniors that no longer work. These special facilities cater to the wants and of retiree. Many facilities include extensive amenities like clubhouses, swimming pools, arts and crafts areas, most have a golf course, some with boating, walking trails, active adult retail sites and onsite medical facilities. These type of places make you want to retire.
