Our entire lifetime and the lifetimes before us have always worked the same way in many aspects. It has always been true through the many ages that the younger people take care of the elders. The words social welfare is a modern term for the same situation. Whether you agree or not the older generation in general can not always take care of itself. In an ideal world plans would be made ahead of time and each person could have their futures planned for their own care. As we know we do not live in an ideal world and things happen we can not plan for. As we take care of our elders as the generations before us take care of theirs so shall the younger generation take care of us one day. All we can do as responsible adults is do our best to have our futures set up for our care ahead of time to help relieve the burden on our children.
