When we grow up we are taught many things from family, friends and teachers, not to mention radio, TV and Internet. One interesting myth that young men are taught growing up is refraining from having sex the night before your next athletic event will increase your performance. This is something different that what I understand, when I was doing full-contact karate, a shot before a match kept me loose during the fight. This refrain from sex myth dates back to ancient times when warriors refused to have sex the night before they would go into battle. Warriors believed that having sex would sap their strength, Athletes tend to be really superstitious about what will or will not do to give the extra edge perform well in their given competition. The scientists from Canada under controlled testing that sex had little or no effect on an athlete’s strength, endurance or competition success. There was one exception to the tests, that showed boxers and other athletes whose competition performance depends on aggression due to the fact that good sex may lessen the killer instinct of the fighter.
